Elizabeth's Journal

Feb. 23, 2009
Dear Journal,
Today was a great day. Mom made a great breakfast (pancakes and smoked sausage.) Also, Mom and Dad announced that I was going to have another sibling! Gosh, I hate being an only child. Things get a bit lonely. I’m hoping for a little brother. I went to school that day and I was so excited to tell my friends of what happened. They are all really excited and Susan is hoping that I have a little sister so her little brother and my little sister can possibly date. During school, we learned more about chemistry and some things about the elements. I’m really hoping that I become a scientist of some sort. I really like mixings chemicals and doing experiments. Nothing new happened during lunch except that Hannah wanted to plan her birthday during the weekend for next week. Everyone is hoping that her party will be really fun. After school, Grandma picked me up because Mom and Dad were a bit caught up at work. They came home at about 7:30, so dinner was a little bit late. Luckily, Grandma and Grandpa had already cooked. For dinner we had roasted chicken, scallop potatoes and some greens. It was sooooo tasty. After dinner, we all talked about our days and I finished up my homework. Since I finished my homework early, I helped my dad organize his office. I can’t wait for the next day. I’m excited to talk to Mom and Dad about the baby and when we find out if it’s a boy or girl. Tomorrow will be great.

Dailly Itinerary

8:00 am - Wake up.
8:05 am - Dress and do basic hygiene tasks.
8:30am - Prepare breakfast
9:10 am - Breakfast with family members, neighbors, or friends.
10:00 am -Morning fitness work out.
10:30 am - Begin school or work.
1:00 pm - Lunch at work place.
1:45 pm -End of lunch.
7:00 pm - End of work or school day.
7:15 pm - Set table and prepare dinner
8:15 pm - Dinner with family or friends/ discussion on issues and current events.
9:00 pm - Study and relaxation time.
11:50 pm - Time for resting.

Community activities include:
Neighborhood BBQ’s- A monthly gathering of Hiveans to learn more about each other and to welcome new members.

Little Bee reading- A yearly event in which the older Hiveans read and teach toddlers about books.

Green Bee keeping- A weekly community project in which the citizens of The Hive go out to plant Trees, Flowers, and other plants. In addition to up keeping the existing plantae.

Declaration of Independence/Hivean Rules

We, the people of The Hive, have grown weary of the world's current state. Selfish ambitions and destructive behavior plagued our world for far too long. It is time for change. The Hivean goal is a world with: equality for all; no privatization of resources or businesses; a strong and reliable economy; peace between man; and a healthy, clean environment to thrive in. Our vision shall be realized through carefully planned socio-economic reforms which will promote a classless, peaceful, and eco-friendly society. We have established a command economy and devised a set of rules which will bring an end to the class system while promoting peace between man and a healthy environment.

1. No cruel or unusual punishement. We want a civilized community and to give people cruel and usual punishments for their crimes would not be civilized.

2., 3., 4. No adultery, no physical violence or weapons, and no drugs, alcohol, or tobacco. The things listed would create a community that isn’t proper. It could cause addiction, anger, and would later lead to the descruction of our society.

5. Once a Hivean, you cannot leave the limits of our city. Our city is unlike the outisde world. If we were to allow our people to leave, they would consume themselves in things of the outside world , such as adultry, alcohol, and drugs.

6. Two children per family and each family household can hold up to 6 people. We do not want our city to be overly crowded.

7. Zero-emission vehicles only. The Hive prides itself off of the cleanliness of the society. With zero-emission vehicles, we help our society to stay clean and we also keep the air clean.

8. All Hiveans must have a higher education. We would like all the people of The Hive to take advantages of all possible opportunities.

9. All able Hiveans must work. Since all Hiveans have a higher education, all should work. Also, the harder you work, the more you help your community.

10. Each household is only able to have 6 people. We do not want a home to be over crowded. Also, we believe if there are too many people in the house, there will be more family issues, which we do not want.

11. There is a three child limit. Since we do not want our city to be too crowded so with three children, the city won't be overloaded and we won't have space issues.

12. There is no personal income. Everyone must share what they earn from their job even if they earn more or less than others. People who need more money will be able to obtain it and those who have more money than necessary will be able to give it to those in need.
